LISTEN TO QIN : It is an innovative fusion of drama and Guqin, an ancient seven-string Chinese musical instrument of the zither family. It has been played since ancient times, and has traditionally been favoured by scholars and literati as an instrument of great subtlety and refinement.

 

LISTEN TO QIN: Het is een innovatieve verkenning van drama en Guqin, een van de oudste bekende snaarinstrumenten uit de citerfamilie. De guqin geldt in de Chinese traditie als een van de meest kenmerkende uitvindingen waaruit het menselijk intellect naar voren komt. Confucius was een meester op dit instrument en het was zijn meest geliefde muziekinstrument.

 

《听琴》是中国古琴史上第一部音乐剧，是音乐与戏剧跨界高度融合的舞台剧。

 

Song Shan, a young lady born in the contemporary 1990s, travels back to Song Dynasty in her dream, enters its circle of literati and pieces together the story between Emperor Huizong Zhao Ji, the Courtesan Li Shishi and Premier Cai Jing. Combining Guqin music and their modern interpretations by Guqin artists, “Listen to Qin” features the collision, fusion, exchange and affinity between people of the past and present and offers a unique interpretation of love and hate among the literati of the Song Dynasty.

 

Song Shan, een jongedame geboren in de jaren negentig, reist in haar droom terug naar de Song-dynastie, komt in de hoge kring en verzamelt samen het verhaal tussen keizer Huizong Zhao Ji, de courtisane Li Shishi en premier Cai Jing. De combinatie van Guqin-muziek en hun moderne interpretaties door Guqin-artiesten, "Luister naar Qin", kenmerkt de botsing, fusie, uitwisseling en affiniteit tussen mensen van vroeger en nu en biedt een unieke interpretatie van liefde en haat onder de literatoren van de Song-dynastie.

 

剧中现代女孩宋扇梦回大宋，进入宋人生活的“朋友圈”，与宋徽宗赵佶、李师师、蔡京等人发生故事，将千年古琴和现代琴人有机结合，在今人与古人的碰撞、融合、交流和默契中演绎宋人的爱恨情仇。

This musical is inspired by the renowned Chinese painting of the Song Dynasty - Ting Qin Tu (Listen to Qin). Each scene is named after a piece of Guqin music accompanied with a modern interpretation. “Listen to Qin” conveys the aesthetics of life of the Song Dynasty through the four traditional Chinese arts - qin, go, calligraphy and painting plus classical poetry, traditional Chinese songs and dance.

 

Deze musical is geïnspireerd op de beroemde Chinese schilderkunst van de Song-dynastie - Ting Qin Tu (Luister naar Qin). Elke scène is vernoemd naar een stuk Guqin-muziek vergezeld van een moderne interpretatie. "Luister naar Qin" geeft de esthetiek van het leven van de Song-dynastie weer via de vier traditionele Chinese kunsten - qin, go, kalligrafie en schilderen plus klassieke poëzie, traditionele Chinese liederen en dans.

 

《听琴》是宋代名画《听琴图》的立体化。剧中把宋徽宗闻名世界的《听琴图》和《瑞鹤图》动态呈现在舞台上，与剧情和人物表演情境交融。把宋人抚琴、听琴、斫琴的状态呈现于画中。每场戏都用古琴曲演绎，并以琴曲作为场名，让现代观众和千年古琴近距离接触。《听琴》涵盖了古琴、团扇、诗词等多种中国传统文化，运用中国气派的话剧和戏曲中的吟诵、歌唱、舞蹈等表演艺术手段，配合舞美、音乐、道具、服饰等，综合体现了中国传统文化的诗意美。​
