Business Chinese Language Courses


OVERVIEW

Jointly with Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCECC), we successfully launched our first and second live online Beginners’ Business Chinese (BBC) courses in September 2020 and January 2021 respectively. We have been helping two excellent cohorts of learners.

 

To help learners who have learned pinyin and already known approximately 250 words, especially the learners who finished our Stage 2 of BBC, we are offering a Stage 3 course from April 19 to June 25, 2021. Both members and non-members of BCECC, both current participants and learners knowing pinyin and having mastered 250 basic words are welcomed to join.

 

In addition to the new Stage 3 Course, we are still offering Stage 2 and Stage 1 of BBC Courses from April 19 to June 25, 2021. The detailed information is as follows.

 

The above-mentioned courses will focus on verbal communications, while expanding vocabulary, improving pronunciation and other skills. The Courses also include some cultural elements and tips essential and interesting to business people.

  

Stage 3 BBC Course:


OBJECTIVES:

The objectives of this course include, but not limited to helping participating learners achieve:

•    Refining pronunciation.
•    Grasping 100 to 150 more basic words.
•    Learning several basic communication topics or functions, such as:
      a.    Shopping
      b.    Ordering foods
      c.    Comparing things
      d.    Emphasizing certain information about past events
      e.    Talking about plans, on-going actions etc. (Specific topics may be subject to change)
•    Meanwhile, grasping more basic grammar rules.
•    Most importantly, getting a solid foundation and good momentum for further study.
 

DATES & TIMING:

From April 19 to June 25, 2021.

10 sessions in total. Each session is 90 minutes.

On Thursdays, from 12:00 to 13:30 CEST.

Stage 2 BBC Course:


OBJECTIVES:

The objectives of this course include, but not limited to helping participating learners achieve:

  • Improving pronunciation.

  • Grasping 100 to 150 new basic words.

  • Learning several very useful basic communication topics or functions, such as

    1.  doing small talks,

    2.  asking/giving employer and positions,

    3.  taking about past actions/events,

    4.  taking about time,

    5.  taking about daily routines,

    6.  taking about skill capabilities.

  • Meanwhile, grasping more basic grammar rules.

  • Most importantly, getting a solid foundation and good momentum for further study.

DATES & TIMING:

From April 19 to June 25, 2021.

10 sessions in total. Each session is 90 minutes.

On Fridays, from 12:00 to 13:30 CEST.


Stage 1 BBC Course:


OBJECTIVES:

The objectives of this course include, but not limited to helping participating learners achieve:

  • Clear understanding the concepts of two fundamental systems: pinyin (Chinese phonetic symbols) and Hanzi (Chinese characters).

  • Mastering pinyin and tones.

  • Grasping 100 to 150 basic words.

  • Learning 10 to 12 basic communication topics or functions, such as greeting, self-introduction, introducing others, age, date, capabilities, etc..

  • Meanwhile, grasping some basic rules of Chinese grammar.

  • Most importantly, getting a solid foundation and good momentum for further study.


DATES & TIMING:

From April 19 to June 25, 2021.
10 sessions, Each session is 90 minutes.
On Wednesdays, from 12:00 to 13:30 CET. 

DELIVERY:

Online live interactive webinars on Zoom. 
Group members will have digital handouts, audio files and some suggested Apps. 

INSTRCTORS:

Confucius Institute at GROUP T-Academy has handpicked two top-notch teachers to design and deliver these courses.

 

Prof. Dun Liao and Prof. Mayinuer both have been teaching Mandarin Chinese for 20 years in China, Asia and U.K. When they taught at London School of Economics (LSE) from 2016 to 2019, they continuously delivered successful business Chinese courses at various levels, which were well received among learners not only at LSE but also in HSBC, Bank of England, and JP Morgan. 

 

With their expertise and track records, these upcoming courses they design and co-run will offer great value to participants.
